  1. Jehovah’s Witness doctrines
  2. Salvation according to the Jehovah’s Witnesses
    1. According to the Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1983, p. 12, there are four requirements for salvation: “Many have found the second requirement more difficult. It is to obey God’s laws, yes, to conform one’s life to the moral requirements set out in the Bible. This includes refraining from a debauched, immoral way of life. 1 Cor. 6:9,10; 1 Pet. 4:3,4.”
      1. See quote in context
      2. Ask the JW if he/she is doing what the Watchtower says to do. Are you keeping God’s laws?
      3. If the JW says he isn’t, then why not? Is he disobeying the Watchtower?
      4. The Watchtower says you have to obey God’s laws. Which laws are those you have to obey? Which moral requirements must you obey?
    2. “Yes, there are various things involved in getting saved. We must take in accurate knowledge of God’s purposes and his way of salvation. Then we must exercise faith in the Chief Agent of salvation, Jesus Christ, and do God’s will the rest of our lives” (John 3:16; Titus 2:14) (The Watchtower, Sept 15, 1989, p. 7).
      1. See quote in context–at end of page
    3. “When a person, on the basis of the Scriptural knowledge he has gained, has belief It would be a mistake for him [one who has belief in Christ] to think that he is now saved and cannot fall. He must show by his endurance in the Christian faith that he is worthy of salvation . . . Salvation from death is a gift from God to those that obey him, not to those that disobey” (The Watchtower, March 1, 1960, p. 134).
      1. See quote in context
    4. Baptism is necessary for salvation.
      1. “It is evident from this [Rom. 10:9-10] that besides faith and baptism, public declaration to the effect that Jesus Christ is Lord and that God raised him up from the dead is a requirement for salvation” (The Watchtower, May 1, 1979, p. 15, Baptism, A Christian Requirement).
    5. “These foregoing scriptures [Dt. 27:9, 10; 30:1-10] clearly show that obedience brings harmony and friendship with Jehovah, peace, salvation, testing for approval, release from oppression, and punishment upon the enemies of his own people . . . ” (The Watchtower, Sept. 15, 1952, p. 559).
  3. The Watchtower Organization is the Prophet of God.
    1. “This ‘prophet’ was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah’s Christian witnesses . . . Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a ‘prophet’ of God. It is another thing to prove it” (The Watchtower, April 1, 1972, p. 197).

  4. If the Watchtower Organization is a prophet of God, why has it made false prophecies?
    1. 1897 “Our Lord, the appointed King, is now present, since October 1874” (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 4, p. 621).
    2. 1899 ” . . . the battle of the great day of God Almighty’ (Revelation 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth’s present rulership, is already commenced” (The Time Is at Hand, 1908 ed., p. 101).
    3. 1918 “Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection” (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, p. 89).
    4. 1922 “The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914” (The Watchtower, Sept. 1, 1922, p. 262).
    5. 1923 “Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures. As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming deluge” (The Watchtower, April 1, 1923, p. 106).
    6. 1925 “The year 1925 is here. With great expectation Christians have looked forward to this year. Many have confidently expected that all members of the body of Christ will be changed to heavenly glory during this year. This may be accomplished. It may not be. In his own due time God will accomplish his purposes concerning his people. Christians should not be so deeply concerned about what may transpire this year” (The Watchtower, January 1, 1925, p. 3).
    7. 1931 “There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah’s faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time . . . and they also learned to quit fixing dates” (Vindication, p. 338).
    8. 1941 “Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord’s provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon” (The Watchtower, Sept. 15, 1941, p. 288).
    9. 1968 “True, there have been those in times past who predicted an end to the world, even announcing a specific date. Yet nothing happened. The end did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing?.. Missing from such people were God’s truths and evidence that he was using and guiding them” (Awake, Oct. 8, 1968).
    10. 1968 “Why are you looking forward to 1975?” (The Watchtower, Aug. 15, 1968, p. 494).
  5. Watchtower’s control over its people.
    1. “Only this organization functions for Jehovah’s purpose and to his praise. To it alone God’s Sacred Word, the Bible, is not a sealed book” (The Watchtower, July 1, 1973, p. 402).
      1. Link: http://www.carm.org/religious-movements/jehovahs-witnesses/knowing-bible-possible-only-through-jehovahs-witness
    2. “Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible” (The Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1967. p. 587).
    3. “We should meekly go along with the Lord’s theocratic organization and wait for further clarification, rather than balk at the first mention of a thought unpalatable to us…Theocratic ones will appreciate the Lord’s visible organization and not be so foolish as to put against Jehovah’s channel their own human reasoning and sentiment and personal feelings” (The Watchtower, Feb. 1, 1952, pp. 79-80).
    4. “We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the faithful and discreet slave organization” (The Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1981).
    5. “We cannot claim to love God, yet deny his word and channel of communication” (The Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1967, p. 591).
    6. All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the “greatly diversified wisdom of God” can become known only through Jehovah’s channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave (The Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1994, p. 8).
    7. “From time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of Jehovah’s people those, who, like the original Satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude. . . They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such Bible reading, they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom’s clergy were teaching 100 years ago . . . ” (The Watchtower, August 15, 1981).
  6. Who is the Faithful and Wise Servant?
    1. “Thousands of the readers of Pastor Russell’s writings believe that he filled the office of ‘that faithful and wise servant,’ and that his great work was giving to the Household of Faith meat in due season. His modesty and humility precluded him from openly claiming this title, but he admitted as much in private conversation” (The Watchtower, Dec. 1, 1919, p. 357).
    2. “Jesus foretold that among his people there would be a ‘faithful and discreet slave’ class who would be providing the spiritual food to God’s family . . . overseeing the carrying out of the Kingdom interests world wide (Matt. 24:45-47). These anointed overseers serve as though being guided in their activities by the right hand of Christ” (The Watchtower, January 15, 1969, p. 51).
  7. Jesus is present since 1874.
    1. “But now we are in the end of this Gospel age, and the Kingdom is being established or set up. Our Lord, the appointed King, is now present, since October 1874, A.D., according to the testimony of the prophets, to those who have ears to hear; and the formal inauguration of his kingly office dates from April 1878 A.D.” (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 4, p. 621).
      1. Link: http://www.carm.org/religious-movements/jehovahs-witnesses/jesus-present-1874
  8. Jesus is Abaddon and Apollyon the Destroyer.
    1. “When Jesus was on earth as a man, he was a Hebrew, and now in his capacity as Jehovah’s royal Executioner he is called by the Hebrew name Abad’don, which means Destruction (Job 26:6; 28:22; 31:12; 12:23; 14:19). In the Greek in which the inspired Christian Scriptures were written his similar title is Apollyon, which means Destroyer” (The Watchtower, Dec. 1, 1961, p. 719).

  9. Jesus mediates only for the 144,000,
    1. “Likewise, the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the Mediator between his heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and the nation of spiritual Israel, which is limited to only 144,000 members” (The Desire for Peace and Security Worldwide, 1986, p. 10).
      1. Link: http://www.carm.org/religious-movements/jehovahs-witnesses/jesus-mediates-only-144-000-jehovahs-witnesses
      2. Does Jesus mediate for the average JW? Nope. ” . . . Jesus Christ is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the Mediator between his heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and the nation of spiritual Israel, which is limited to only 144,000 members” (The Desire for Peace and Security Worldwide, 1986, p. 10).
      3. If Jesus is the mediator only for the 144,000, then the average JW has no mediator before God. Without a mediator, they are damned.
  10. Jesus’ Resurrection
    1. John 2:19-21, “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’ 20 The Jews therefore said, It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days? 21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body.”
      1. The JW’s say Jesus was not raised physically even though Jesus Himself contradicts what they say. Note that John the apostle says Jesus was speaking of His body, the temple that would be raised. The JW’s are wrong.
  11. Bible Verses Examined
    1. Exodus 6:2-3, “God spoke further to Moses and said to him, I am the Lord [YHWH]; 3and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, Lord, I did not make Myself known to them.”
      1. If God appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God Almighty (Ex. 6:2-3) yet Jesus says that no man as seen the Father at any time (John 6:46), then who were they seeing if it was God Almighty, but not the Father?
    2. Isaiah 43:11, “I, even I, am the Lord; and there is no savior besides Me.”
      1. If there is no savior besides God (Is. 43:11; 45:21), then how can Jesus, a created thing, be the savior?
      2. In what sense is God alone the savior? Simple, only God forgives our sins, and only God provides the provision for our forgiveness through Christ. Yet, Jesus is the Savior who forgives sins and is Himself the provision. How can Jesus then be a created thing?
    3. Matt. 24:36, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.”
      1. Rev. 19:12-13, “And His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon His head are many diadems; and He has a name written upon Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 And He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of God.”
    4. John 1:1–The JW’s say that Jesus is “a” god.
      1. If Jesus is “a” god, then isn’t that polytheism?
      2. If Jesus is “a” god, then how many gods are there in JW theology?
      3. If Jesus is “a” god, then is he a true God or false god since the Bible says there is only one God (Isaiah 43:10; 44:6, 8)?
      4. If Jesus is “a” god, then why does he tell people to come to him and not the Father (Matt. 11:28)?
    5. John 5:18
      1. If it was only the Jews who thought that Jesus was making Himself equal to God, then please point out in John’s gospel what Jesus said and did that would cause the Jews to think this. If you cannot find the place in scripture, if it isn’t there, then the only thing left to conclude is that the comment is John’s and not that of the Jews.
      2. If John is merely reporting the error of the Jews’ thinking and Jesus was not really God, then why didn’t John the apostle clarify the situation? After all, it is a perfect opportunity to do so, especially since John records corrections of the Jews in John 8:48-49 and 21:23.
    6. John 8:58–JW’s Bible says, “Before Abraham was, I have been,” not “I AM.”
      1. If that is true, then why did the Jews want to kill Jesus? Later, in John 10:31 the Jews wanted to kill him because Jesus made himself out to be God.
      2. The Jews who killed Jesus denied that Jesus was God. So, the JW’s agree with the Jews that Jesus is not God.
    7. John 14:28, “You heard that I said to you, I go away, and I will come to you. If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.”
      1. The JW’s say that when Jesus says the Father is greater than He, that it means Jesus isn’t divine. But this is not logically true. Jesus was speaking of position–not nature. A husband is greater in authority than his wife, but they are equal in nature.
      2. The JW’s fail to understand that Jesus was in a humbled state (Heb. 2:9) and made under the Law (Gal. 4:4). Jesus was in a lower position because He was a man as well as divine. He has two natures: human and divine. The incarnation answers the JW’s objections.
    8. John 17:3, “And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent.”
      1. If John 17:3 means that the Father is the only true God, then Jude 4 means that Jesus is our only Lord and Master because it says Jesus is our ONLY Lord and Master. Therefore, the Father is not our Lord or our master by the thinking the JW’s use..
      2. You don’t make doctrine out of one verse, especially since the Bible says that Jesus is God in Heb. 1:8 and John 20:28.
    9. John 20:28, “Thomas answered and said to Him [Jesus], My Lord and my God!
      1. Why did Thomas call Jesus both Lord and God in John 20:28? Can you also call Jesus your Lord and your God? The true Jesus (of the Bible) is called Lord and God by His disciple. If you are a disciple of Jesus, can you also call Him your Lord and God? If not, why not?
    10. 1 Cor. 1:2, “to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.”
      1. The phrase, “call upon the name of the Lord [YHWH]” is used in the OT only in reference to God (i.e. prayer to God in 116:4), never anyone else. Yet, the Greek equivalent (LXX, the Greek version of the OT translated by the Jews around 250 BC) of the phrase is applied to Jesus in 1 Cor. 1:2. It says that the church “calls upon the name of the Lord Jesus.” Why is a phrase used ONLY of God in the OT applied to Jesus in the NT when that phrase implies worship and prayer to God?
      2. The LXX translates “call upon the name of YHWH” as “call upon the name of the Lord [kurios].” The phrase “call upon the name of the Lord” is applied to Jesus.
    11. Col. 1:15, “And He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation.”
      1. The JW’s say that “firstborn” means first created. It doesn’t. The following two verses demonstrate that “firstborn” is a title of pre-eminence that is transferable.
        1. Gen. 41:51-52, “And Joseph called the name of the first-born Manasseh: For, said he, God hath made me forget all my toil, and all my fathers house. And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.” AND, Jer. 31:9, ” . . . for I am a father to Israel, andEphraim is My firstborn.”
        2. Therefore, the JW fails to understand the complete meaning of “firstborn.”
    12. Col. 1:16-17, “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
      1. In the New World translation in Col. 1:16-17, the word “other” is added four times.  The word “other” is not in the Greek.  So the NWT version says, “because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist, (CAPs added for emphasis)”.  But, if Jesus is the first created thing as Jehovah’s Witnesses teach, then what you do with Isaiah 44:24which says, “This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, Who formed you since you were in the womb: “I am Jehovah, who made everything. I stretched out the heavens by myself, And I spread out the earth. Who was with me? (NWT)”  If Jehovah stretched out the heavens by himself, that it cannot be that Jesus is the one who created all things.
    13. Heb. 1:3
      1. If Jesus is the “the exact representation of his [God] very being” (Heb. 1:3, NWT), then how is Jesus (who is only a man) God’s exact representation? It makes no sense. But, if Jesus is both God and man (Col. 2:9), then Jesus can be the exact representation of God’s nature because He HAS A DIVINE nature.
      2. If the JW Jesus was first an angel and became a man, then the angel stopped being angelic in nature, changed natures, became a man, and he yet was the “exact representation” (Heb. 1:3, NWT) of God? How is that so?
  12. COMMENTS:
    1. The JW’s agree with the Pharisees who condemned Jesus–that Jesus is not God in flesh. They accused Jesus of claiming to be God (John 10:33). But, of course they denied that Jesus was God–just the same as the JW’s do.
    2. Does the term SON OF GOD mean that Jesus is not God? If so, then does the term SON OF MAN mean that Jesus is not a man?
    3. If the term SON OF GOD means that Jesus is a man, then what does the term SON OF MAN mean?
    4. If the term SON OF MAN means that Jesus is a man, then what does the term SON OF GOD mean?
    5. John 1:1 is dealing with God’s nature since it says the Word was God. Dealing with the nature of God we understand that there is only one God (Is. 43:10; 44:6-8; 45:5). To say that the Word was “a” god is far too close to polytheism in the context.
    6. Jesus said that the greatest act of love is to die for another (John 15:13).  The Bible says that God is love (1 John 4:8).  In the the Trinity God performs the greatest act of love by dying for those whom, he saves in the person of Jesus.  But in the JW’s, God can’t do it, and God is outdone by a creature.  This is an incongruity the JW’s cannot resolve.
    7. What is the greatest act of love?
    8. Jesus said it was to lay one’s life down for his friends. In John 15:13 Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
    9. Can Allah perform the greatest act of love? No.
  13. QUESTIONS
    1. Death and ceasing to exist:  In Luke 8:55 the verse speaks about a girl who was dead and how Jesus raised her.  It says, “And her spirit returned, and she rose immediately; and He gave orders for something to be given her to eat.” If the soul and the body are one and the same and if when the body dies the spirit dies (ceases to be), then how can her spirit return to her dead body?  Wouldn’t it have ceased to exist?
    2. God doesn’t want any to perish:  I’ve always wondered why Jesus spoke in parables so people will not be saved, (Mark 4:10-12) and yet also God desires that all be saved (2 Pet. 3:9).  Can you explain how these two verses go together?
    3. Does the term “Son of God” mean that Jesus is not God?  If so, then what does the term “Son of Man” mean . . . that he is not man?  Could someone clarify that?  I’m curious.  Thanks.

  1. Mormon Doctrines
    1. There are many gods, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163); There is a mother goddess, (Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, p. 443); God used to be a man on another planet, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321); After you become a good Mormon, you have the potential of becoming a god, (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pages 345-347, 354); God resides near a star called Kolob, (Pearl of Great Price, pages 34-35; Mormon Doctrine, p. 428).
      1. The Bible says there is only one God (Is. 43:10; 44:6, 8; 45:5).  God is a trinity of persons–not three gods.  God is eternally God (Psalm 90:2); therefore, He was never a man.  God knows of no other gods (Is. 44:8).  You cannot become a god (Is. 43:10).  Mormonism is wrong.
      2. One God verses
        1. Isaiah 43:10, You are My witnesses, declares the Lord, And My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me.”
        2. Isaiah 44:6, “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me.”
        3. Isaiah 44:8, “Do not tremble and do not be afraid; have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none.”
        4. Isaiah 45:5, “I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides Me there is no God.”
    2. The Trinity is three separate gods, (James Talmage, Articles of Faith, p. 35); God is increasing in knowledge, (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 120); God has the form of a man, (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 3).
    3. God the Father has a body of flesh and bones, (Doctrine and Covenants, 130:22);  God is married to his goddess wife and has spirit children, (Mormon Doctrine p. 516); We were first begotten as spirit children in heaven and then born naturally on earth, (Journal of Discourse, Vol. 4, p. 218).
      1. The Bible says that God is spirit (John 4:24) and that a spirit does not have flesh and bones (Luke 24:39).  Therefore, God doesn’t have a body of flesh and bones, and he isn’t married to a goddess wife.
    4. Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers, and we were all born as siblings in heaven to them both (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163); There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet of God (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 1, p. 188); There are three levels of heaven: telestial, terrestrial, and celestial, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 348).
    5. The Holy Ghost is a male personage, (A Marvelous Work and a Wonder, p 118; Journal of Discourses, Vol. 5, page 179); Baptism for the dead, (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. II, p. 141). This is a practice of baptizing each other in place of non-Mormons who are now dead. Their belief is that in the afterlife, the “newly baptized” person will be able to enter into a higher level of Mormon heaven.
  2. Joseph Smith boasted he did more than Jesus to keep a church together.
    1. Joseph Smith said, “I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam . . . Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet.” (History of the Church, Vol. 6:408-9).
      1. Link:  http://www.carm.org/religious-movements/mormonism/joseph-smith-boasted-he-did-more-jesus-keep-church-together
  3. Mormonism condemns other religions.
    1. (Joseph Smith’s first vision) ” . . . I asked the personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right–and which I should join. I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong, and the personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in His sight. . .” (History of the Church, Vol. 1, page 5-6).
    2. “But He did send His angel to this same obscure person, Joseph Smith jun., who afterwards became a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, and informed him that he should not join any of the religious sects of the day, for they were all wrong.” (Brigham Young, “Journal of Discourses,” Vol. 2, page 171.–1855)
  4. Mormons have a different Jesus.
    1. “In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints ‘do not believe in the traditional Christ.’ ‘No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times.'” (LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7)
  5. Book of Mormon
    1. Joseph Smith said, “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” (History of the Church, Vol. 4, page 461).
    2. If the book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible and you can get closer to God by following it (History of the Church, 4:461), why does it not mention plurality of Gods, Word of Wisdom, God is an exalted man, celestial marriage, men may become Gods, three degrees of glory, baptism for the dead, eternal progression, the Aaronic Priesthood, and the Melchizedek Priesthood?
    3. Changes in Book of Mormon
      1. 1 Nephi 11:18, (1830 edition) “And he said unto me, Behold, the virgin which thou seest, is the mother of [. . . . ] God, after the manner of the flesh.” VERSES (1981 edition) “And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son of God, after the manner of the flesh.”
      2. 1 Nephi 13:40, (1830 edition)” . . . and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is [. . . . ] the Eternal Father and the Savior of the
world . . . ” VERSES (1981 edition) ” . . . and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the
        World . . . “
      3. 1 Nephi 20:1 (changed in 1964 ed.). “Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah,
[. . . . ] which swear . . . ” VERSES (1981 EDITION) “Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, or out of the waters of baptism, who swear . . . “
      4. Alma 29:4, (1830 edition)” . . . yea, I know that he allotteth unto men, yea, decreeth unto them decrees which are unalterable, according to their wills . . . ” VERSES (1981 edition) ” . . . yea, I know that he allotteth unto men [ . . . .] according to their
        wills . . . “
      5. 3 Nephi 22:4 (1830 edition) ” . . . for thou shalt forget the shame of thy
youth, [. . . . ] and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.”
VERSES ” . . . for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.”
  6. Questions for Mormons
    1. Why was Joseph Smith still preaching against polygamy in October 1843 after he got his revelation in July 1843 commanding the practice of polygamy? (Doc. & Cov. 132; and History of the Church Vol. 6, page 46, or Teachings of the Prophet, page 324).
    2. If the Book of Mormon is true, why do Indians fail to turn white when they become Mormons? (2 Nephi 30:6, prior to the 1981 revision).
    3. How did Joseph Smith carry home the golden plates of the Book of Mormon, and how did the witnesses lift them so easily? (They weighed about 230 lbs. Gold with a density of 19.3 weighs 1204.7 lbs. per cubic foot. The plates were 7″ x 8″ by about 6.” See Articles of Faith by Talmage, page 262, 34th ed.).
    4. If Moroni devoutly practiced the Mormon Gospel, why is he an angel now rather than a God? (Doc. & Cov. 132:17, 37)
    5. If Jesus was conceived as a result of a physical union between God and Mary, how was Jesus born of a virgin? (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 1, page 50).
    6. How did Nephi with a few men on a new continent build a temple like Solomon’s while Solomon needed 163,300 workmen and seven years to build his temple? (1 Kings 5:13-18 and 2 Nephi 5:15-17).
    7. God rejected the fig leaf aprons which Adam and Eve made (Gen. 3:21). Why do Mormons memorialize the fall by using fig leaf aprons in the secret temple ceremonies?
  7. Verses worth noting from LDS Scripture
    1. Book of Mormon
      1. Sufficiently Humble, Alma 5:27, “Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently humble? That your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Christ, who will come to redeem his people from their sins?”
      2. Mocking Brother,   Alma 5:29-31, “Behold, I say, is there one among you who is not stripped of envy? I say unto you that such an one is not prepared; and I would that he should prepare quickly, for the hour is close at hand, and he knoweth not when the time shall come; for such an one is not found guiltless.  30 And again I say unto you, is there one among you that doth make a mock of his brother, or that heapeth upon him persecutions?  31 Wo unto such an one, for he is not prepared, and the time is at hand that he must repent or he cannot be saved!”
      3. Jesus born in Jerusalem:  Alma 7:10, “And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.
      4. Saved after all you can do:  2 Nephi 25:23, “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”
      5. Grace sufficient after you deny yourself of all ungodliness.  Moroni 10:32, “Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and IF YE SHALL DENY YOURSLEVES OF ALL UNGODLINESS, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, THEN IS HIS GRACE SUFFICIENT FOR YOU, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.”
        1. Have you denied yourself of all ungodliness?  If not, then God’s grace isn’t sufficient for you.  Remember, you must deny yourself of ALL ungodliness, or you don’t have God’s grace . . . which would mean you are lost.  So, have you denied yourself of all ungodliness according to YOUR scriptures?
      6. Must forsake your sins:  DC 58:43, “By this ye may know if a man repenteth of his sins—behold, he will confess them and forsake them.”
      7. Former Sins Return:  DC 82:7, “And now, verily I say unto you, I, the Lord, will not lay any sin to your charge; go your ways and sin no more; but unto that soul who sinneth shall the former sins return, saith the Lord your God.”
        1. If you don’t perform perfectly, and you sin again after repenting, the form sins return.  How is this forgiveness?
    2. Doctrine and Covenants
      1. Celestial Law, “For he who is not able to abide the law of a celestial kingdom cannot abide a celestial glory,” (DC 88:22).–following are excerpts from LDS.org, search on celestial law requirements
        1. “If we are fully obedient to celestial law, fulfilling the laws of Christ, we will be worthy of a celestial glory. But for those who do not fully comply with celestial law, other lesser degrees of glory have been prepared . . . ” (Delbert L. Stapley, The Blessings of Righteous Obedience, Ensign, Nov. 1977, 18).
        2. respect the opposite sex so that even lustful thoughts are foreign to the mind,” (C. Kent Dunford, Are You Ready to Be a Disciple of Christ? New Era, Apr. 1975, 26)
        3. “Obedience to Celestial Law Tithing is a part of the celestial law referred to in this revelation. Obedience to it is a prerequisite to being quickened in the resurrection by the fulness of the celestial glory,” (Marion G. Romney, The Blessings of an Honest Tithe, New Era, Jan.Feb. 1982, 45).
        4. “When we talk of the celestial law which is revealed from heaven, that is, the Priesthood, we are talking about the principle of salvation, a perfect system of government, of laws and ordinances, by which we can be prepared to pass from one gate to another, and from one sentinel to another, until we go into the presence of our Father and God . . . (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young, 18: The Priesthood, 125)
        5. “But what the scriptural account means is that to gain celestial salvation we must be able to live these laws to the full if we are called upon to do so. Implicit in this is the reality that we must in fact live them to the extent we are called upon so to do,” (Bruce R. McConkie, Obedience, Consecration, and Sacrifice, Ensign, May 1975, 50).

Islam

by Matt Slick
Islam is a growing religion and its adherents promote it as a religion of peace. However, in actuality it is not a religion of peace but of aggression. Islam supplants all other religious systems as well as governmental systems and attempts to bring all of them under sharia, Islam law.  The following information is for you to use in discussions with Muslims and others to help inform them about what Islam actually teaches.
AGAINST ISLAM

  1. Bible, according to the Quran
    1. Surah 3:3, “It is He Who has sent down the Book (the Qur’an) to you (Muhammad) with truth, confirming what came before it. And he sent down the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel).”
    2. Surah 10:94, “So if you (O Muhammad) are in doubt concerning that which We have revealed unto you, [i.e. that your name is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] then ask those who are reading the Book [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] before you. Verily, the truth has come to you from your Lord. So be not of those who doubt (it).”
    3. Surah 6:34, “Verily, (many) Messengers were denied before you (O Muhammad), but with patience they bore the denial, and they were hurt, till Our Help reached them, and none can alter the Words (Decisions) of Allah. Surely there has reached you the information (news) about the Messengers (before you).”
    4. Surah 18:27, “And recite what has been revealed to you (O Muhammad) of the Book (the Qur’an) of your Lord (i.e. recite it, understand and follow its teachings and act on its orders and preach it to men). None can change His Words, and none will you find as a refuge other than Him.”
  2. Muslims don’t trust the Quran?
    1.  “… and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus)…,” (Surah 3:3). “… there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah…,” (Surah 6:34 and18:27). “So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you,” (Surah 10:94).  So if the Muslims say the Bible is corrupt then they are denying what the Quran says.
    2. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters. The Muslims say Allah’s words were changed by saying the Gospels are corrupt!! That means they do not believe the Quran!
      1. They will say that God’s word is never changed, but the Bible is changed. They say it used to be completely true, but now it has truth combined with error. If that is so, then why do they quote it when it is convenient for them?
      2. The Muslims will say the Bible is valid when it agrees with the Quran, but they will say it is wrong when it contradicts the Quran.
    3. The fact is that Muslims don’t believe what Jesus said about Himself. They say the Bible is corrupt, but who corrupted it and when was it corrupted? If you don’t know, then don’t say it.
    4. Why is it that the Muslims continue to repeat the same old stuff that has already been answered so many times? Are they not interested in the truth? Or, are they just interested in repeating the same old errors?
    5. Surah 10:94, “So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.”
  3. Quran
    1. What is the real Quran? “Hudhaifa was afraid of their differences in the recitation of the Qur’an … Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur’anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith, Vol. 6, Book 61, #510; searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=61&translator=1&start=0&number=510).
      1. If there were so many other copies that were destroyed, then we have no way of knowing what the real Quran said.
    2. Contradictions in the Quran
      1. Can Allah have a son?
        1. Yes: Surah 39:4, “If Allah desire to take a son to Himself, He will surely choose those He pleases from what He has created. Glory be to Him: He is Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all).”
        2. No: Surah 6:101, “Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could He have a son when He has no consort, and He (Himself) created everything, and He is the Knower of all things?”
      2. Allah forgets yet Allah know all?
        1. Forgets:  Surah 32:14, “Taste ye then – for ye forgot the Meeting of this Day of yours, and We too will forget you – taste ye the Penalty of Eternity for your (evil) deeds!”
        2. Knows all things: Surah 24:60, “Such elderly women as are past the prospect of marriage—there is no blame on them if they lay aside their (outer) garments, provided they make not a wanton display of their beauty: but it is best for them to be modest: and Allah is One Who sees and knows all things.”
    3. Scientific problems in the Quran
      1. Sperm comes from the chest of a man: Surah 86:5-7, “Now let man but think from what he is created! He is created from a drop emitted-Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs.”
        1. Ask the Muslim if the testicles of a man are in his chest? This obviously says sperm comes from the chest.
        2. The verse refers to a “drop.” A drop is separated from a larger body of liquid. Drops are not in the human body but outside of it. Therefore, the verse is not about testicles but the semen/sperm mixture that has left the body during sexual intercourse. This is an obvious and blatant error.
        3. In Islam, if ONE thing is wrong in the Quran, then Islam is false because the Quran is supposed to be perfect, from Allah, etc. But, since the Quran teaches that sperm comes from a man’s chest (Surah 86:5-7), then this proves that Islam is false.
      2. The sun set in murky water: Surah 18:86, “Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: “O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness.”
      3. Birds can talk: Surah 27:16, “And Solomon was David’s heir. He said: “O ye people! We have been taught the speech of birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little) of all things: this is indeed Grace manifest (from Allah).”
        1. “And Solomon was David’s heir. And he said: O mankind! Lo! we have been taught the language of birds, and have been given (abundance) of all things. This surely is evident favour,” (Surah 27:16, Pickthall, trans.).
      4. Ants can talk: Surah 27:18, “At length, when they came to a (lowly) valley of ants, one of the ants said: “O ye ants, get into your habitations, lest Solomon and his hosts crush you (under foot) without knowing it.”
        1. “Till, when they reached the Valley of the Ants, an ant exclaimed: O ants! Enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his armies crush you, unperceiving,” (Quran 27:18, Pickthal, trans.).
      5. Shooting stars are for driving away evil spirits: Surah 67:5, “And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.”
        1. That is not what shooting stars are for. They aren’t “for” anything. They are small objects in space burning up in our atmosphere.
      6. There are 7 heavens and 7 earths! Surah 65:12, “Allah is He Who created seven Firmaments and of the earth a similar number. Through the midst of them (all) descends His Command: that ye may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah comprehends, all things in (His) Knowledge.”
    4. Historical Problems in the Quran
      1. Crucifixion before it was invented: Surah 7:123-124, “Pharaoh said: Ye believe in Him before I give you leave! Lo! this is the plot that ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive its people hence. But ye shall come to know! 124 Surely I shall have your hands and feet cut off upon alternate sides. Then I shall crucify you every one,”.
        1. Crucifixion wasn’t invented until around 600 B.C. by the Phoenicians. The Egyptians didn’t crucify anyone because it hadn’t been invented yet. Muhammad didn’t get this right when he made up this verse.
      2. Mary is the sister of Aaron and Moses: Surah 19:27-28, “Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing. 28 O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot.”
        1. Mary was not the sister of Aaron. Aaron was Moses’ brother who lived many many hundreds of years before Mary. Muhammad didn’t understand the Bible very well when he made up that verse.
  4. Hadith – the deeds and sayings of Muhammad. Very important in Islam.
    1. Adam was made 90 feet tall. The Prophet said, “Allah created Adam, making him 60 cubits tall. When He created him, He said to him, “Go and greet that group of angels, and listen to their reply, for it will be your greeting (salutation) and the greeting (salutations of your offspring….” (Sahih Bukhari, Book #55, Hadith #543, Narrated Abu Huraira: searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=55&translator=1&start=0&number=543#543)
      1. Generally a cubit was 18 inches. Therefore, Adam was 90 feet tall). The
        1. It is physiologically impossible for a human to be 90 feet tall.  The heart cannot pump enough blood around against the force of gravity for such a thing to be possible.
    2. Muhammad is ordered by Allah to fight all people until they worship Allah. “Allah’s Apostle said: ‘I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah.,” (Hadith, Vol 1, Book 2,#24, Narrated Ibn ‘Umar: http://www.searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=2&translator=1&start=0&number=24#24).
      1. Jesus said in John 13:35, “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
    3. Don’t pass wind while praying: “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘The angels keep on asking Allah’s forgiveness for anyone of you, as long as he is at his Mu,salla (praying place) and he does not pass wind (Hadath). They say, ‘O Allah! Forgive him, O Allah! be Merciful to him’,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith, Vol. 1, Book 8, #436, Narrated Abu Huraira: searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=8&translator=1&start=0&number=436#436).
      1. Eph. 1:7, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.”
    4. A man slept through prayer time and the devil peed in his ear: “It was mentioned before the Prophet that there was a man who slept the night till morning (after sunrise). The Prophet said, ‘He is a man in whose ears (or ear) Satan had urinated’,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith Vol. 4, Book 54, #492, Narraged ‘Abdullah: searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=54&translator=1&start=0&number=492#492).
  5. Jihad – Holy Struggle
    1. The Qur’an tells Muslims to kill and go to war to fight for Islam: Surah 2:191; 2:193;3:118; 4:75-76; 5:33; 8:12; 8:65; 8:65; 9:5; 9:29; 9:73, 9:123; 33:60-62.
    2. Slay unbelievers: Surah 2:191, “And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.”
    3. Fighting is prescribed for Muslims: Surah 2:216, ” Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.”
    4. Kill them where you find them:  Surah 2:191, “And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers,”
    5. Muslims are to battle for Allah: Surah 4:76, “Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil’s strategy is ever weak.”
    6. Kill those against Islam: Surah 5:33, “The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter.”
    7. Beheading: Surah 8:12, “When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger. 13 That is because they opposed Allah and His messenger. Whoso opposeth Allah and His messenger, (for him) lo! Allah is severe in punishment.”
    8. Allah urges war: Surah 8:65, “O Prophet! urge the believers to war; if there are twenty patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand.”
    9. Slay non-Muslims: Surah 9:5, “Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.”
    10. Fight against non Muslims:  Surah 9:29, “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
    11. Allah urges war: Surah 9:73, “O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.”
    12. Allah urges war: Surah 9:123, “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).”
    13. Allah urges killing: Surah 33:60-62, “… the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and the agitators in the city do not desist … 61 Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering. 62(Such has been) the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and you shall not find any change in the course of Allah.”
    14. Beheading: Surah 47:4, “Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens…”
    15. Allah loves those who fight for him. Surah 61:4, “Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure.”
    16. Kill the Muslim who leaves Islam: “… for the Prophet said, ‘If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him’,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith Vol. 4, Book 52, #260, Narrated Ikrima, searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=52&translator=1&start=0&number=260#260).
    17. Jihad gets you paradise: “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Allah guarantees (the person who carries out Jihad in His Cause and nothing compelled him to go out but Jihad in His Cause and the belief in His Word) that He will either admit him into Paradise (Martyrdom) or return him with reward or booty he has earned to his residence from where he went out’,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith Vol. 9, Book 93, #555, Narrated Abu Huraira, searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=93&translator=1&start=0&number=555#555).
  6. Violence Statistics related to percentage of Muslims in a country
    1. 1% to 2% of a population they are peaceful. 5%, heavy proselytizing to gain converts. 5+%, Push for halal food, pressure businesses to comply. 10%, increased lawlessness to ensure their demands. 20%, rioting, sporadic killings, burning of Christian Churches and Jewish Synagogues. 40%, Chronic terror attacks. 60%, persecution of non-Muslims, sporadic ethnic cleansing, Sharia Law, tax upon infidels. 80%, Daily intimidation, violence, state run ethnic cleansing, genocide with aim of 100% Islamic nation. 7. Muhammad
    1. Magic worked on Muhammad. How can that be if he is a prophet? “Magic was worked on the Prophet so that he began to fancy that he was doing a thing which he was not actually doing,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith, Vol. 4, Book 54, #490, Narrated ‘Aisha: searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=54&translator=1&start=0&number=490#490).
    2. Muhammad was a white man: “While we were sitting with the Prophet in the mosque, a man came riding on a camel. He made his camel kneel down in the mosque, tied its foreleg and then said: ‘Who amongst you is Muhammad?’ … We replied, ‘This white man reclining on his arm.’ The man then addressed him, ‘O Son of ‘Abdul Muttalib’,” (Hadith Vol. 1, book 3, #63; Narrated Anas bin Malik: searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=3&translator=1&start=0&number=63).
    3. Muhammad owned a black slave: “I came and behold, Allah’s Apostle was staying on a Mashroba (attic room) and a black slave of Allah’s Apostle was at the top if its stairs. I said to him, ‘(Tell the Prophet) that here is ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (asking for permission to enter).’ Then he admitted me,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith, Vol. 9, Book 91, #368; searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=91&translator=1&start=0&number=368#368)
    4. Muhammad had people killed: “Allah’s Apostle entered Mecca in the year of its Conquest wearing an Arabian helmet on his head and when the Prophet took it off, a person came and said, ‘Ibn Khatal is holding the covering of the Ka’ba (taking refuge in the Ka’ba).’ The Prophet said, ‘Kill him’ (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith, Vol. 3, Book 29,#72, Narrated Anas bin Malik: searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=29&translator=1&start=0&number=72).
    5. Muhammad was a sinner: “The Prophet said, ‘I say, O Allah! Set me apart from my sins (faults) as the East and West are set apart from each other and clean me from sins as a white garment is cleaned of dirt (after thorough washing). O Allah! Wash off my sins with water, snow and hail’,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith Vol. 1, Book 12, #711, Narrated Abu Huraira: searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=12&translator=1&start=0&number=711).
    6. Muhammad taught lying was okay. “Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, ‘O Allah’s Apostle! Would you like that I kill him [Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf]?’ The Prophet said, ‘Yes,’ Muhammad bin Maslama said, ‘Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab).’ The Prophet said, ‘You may say it’,” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith Vol. 5, Book 59,#369: http://www.searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=59&translator=1&start=0&number=369).
  8. Salvation
    1. “Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no more relationships between them that Day, nor will one ask after another! 102 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy, they will attain salvation: 103 But those whose balance is light, will be those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide,” (Surah 23:101-103).
  9. Women
    1. Voluptuous women await Muslim men in paradise. Surah 78:31, “Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfillment of (the heart’s) desires; Gardens enclosed, and grapevines, And voluptuous women of equal age.”
    2. It is okay to beat wives: Surah 4:34, “As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly)…”
      1. Eph. 5:25-26, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; 26 that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word.”
    3. Muslim men may marry up to four women, but no such provision is made for Muslim women: Surah 4:3, “Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice.”
  10. Other
    1. Don’t take Jews and Christians as friends: Surah 5:51, “O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”
      1. In Surah 5:5 it says a Muslim can marry Christians and Jews, but Surah 5:51 says you cannot have Jews and Christians as friends … how does that work?
    2. The soul exits through the collar-bone when leaving the body. Surah 75:26-28, “Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 27 And there will be a cry, ‘Who is a magician (to restore him)?’ 28 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting.”
    3. Drink Camel Urine as medicine: “Some people from the tribe of ‘Ukl came to the Prophet and embraced Islam. The climate of Medina did not suit them, so the Prophet ordered them to go to the (herd of milch) camels of charity and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine)” Hadith, Vol. 8, Book 82, #794, Narrated Anas: searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=82&translator=1&start=0&number=794).

ANSWERING ATTACKS FROM ISLAM

  1. “The Bible is full of contradictions.”
    1. Saying the Bible is full of contradictions does not mean it is so. Can you provide a contradiction that we can examine in context? There are many websites that address alleged contradictions. Here is one: www.carm.org.
    2. The Quran says that none of the revelations of Allah are forgotten (Surah 2:106), that none can alter the words of Allah (Surah 6:34), that none can change Allah’s words (Surah 6:115; 10:64). Do you then believe the Bible has been changed?
  2. “Jesus never said, ‘I am God. Worship me.'”
    1. True, but Jesus also never said, “I am a prophet,” or “I am a man. Do not worship me.” You do not make a doctrine out of what Jesus did NOT say. You make it out of what He DID say. Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I AM,” (John 8:58)
    2. Jesus also never said, “I am a prophet of Allah.” Yet that is what you claim. There is more than one way to claim to be God in flesh. In fact, Jesus is called God in John 20:28.
    3. Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I AM,” (John 8:58). Compare with Exodus 3:14where God say, “I AM that I AM.” The Jews wanted to kill Jesus for saying that (John 8:59). They wanted to kill Him because He claimed to be God (John 10:33).

IMPORTANT POINTS

  1. The God of Islam is not holy.
    1. The God of Islam is not holy because it accepts the sin-touched repentance and sin-touched sincerity of Muslims for forgiveness of their sins. The God of Christianity does not accept them because He is too holy to accept their sin-touched efforts. The God of Christianity provides what sinful man cannot: the cleansing of our sins by HIS work (on the cross) – not man’s.
    2. Is Allah Holy? Yes.  Do Muslims sin? Yes.  Can a Muslim perform works (i.e., sincerity of belief and repentance from sin) that is pure and holy in himself generated by himself that would be good enough for Allah?  If yes, then the Muslim ,who has sinned, is saying he can generate out of his heart – where sin comes from – sincerity and repentance that is pure and holy.  That is amazing.  If the heart is the source of evil against God, how can it also be the source of holiness and purity?  Yet, in Islam, Allah accepts the sin stained efforts of his followers.  That means that Allah is not holy since he accepts that which is not holy.  But, in Christianity, God is too holy to accept the sincere efforts of Christians.  We are not good enough.  So, God did what we could not and became one of us (John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9), never sinned (1 Peter 2:22).  He bore our sins in his body on the cross (1 Peter 2:24), died and rose again.  Therefore, we trust in what God did, not what we do. The God of Christianity is too holy to accept our sincerity and our good works. He is too great for that.  But, the God of Islam is not.
      1. 1 Peter 2:22, “[Jesus] who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in his mouth.”
      2. 1 Peter 2:24, “and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”
  2. The God of Islam is not righteous
    1. Sins have punishments (such as damnation) because sin is breaking the law (1 John 3:4).  In Islam, sin is breaking Allah’s Law. When a person sins against Allah, is it not proper to judge that person according to Allah’s own righteous law?  Yes. Is ignoring the Law right?  No, it is not. But, in Islam, Allah ignores his own law when he forgives a person.  He does not carry out the requirement of the Law by punishing the sinner.  How can Allah be true if he requires holiness and righteousness, but ignores his own holiness and righteousness when he forgives a Muslim? Therefore, Allah is not righteous.  All is false.
      1. 1 John 3:4, “Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.”
  3. The God of Islam cannot perform the greatest act of love.
    1. The God of Christianity performs the greatest act of love by dying for those whom he saves. Jesus (the 2nd person of the Trinity) said the greatest act of love is to die for another (John 15:13). Jesus died for us. So, the God of Christianity can perform the greatest act of love, but the God of Islam cannot. Therefore, the God of Christianity is greater in love than the god of Islam.
      1. What is the greatest act of love?
      2. Jesus said it was to lay one’s life down for his friends. In John 15:13 Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
      3. Can Allah perform the greatest act of love? No.
  4. Allah is the best of deceivers
    1. Surah 3:54, “But they were deceptive, and Allah was deceptive, for Allah is the best of deceivers.”  The word for “deceive” is ‘makara’ and it means “To practice deceit or guile or circumvention, practice evasion or elusion, to plot, to exercise art or craft or cunning, act with policy, practice strategem,” (studyquran.co.uk/14_MIIM.htm).  If Allah is a great deceiver, then how can you trust him?  Has he told you the truth about Muhammed?  Is Islam true?  After all, if he is the BEST of deceivers, then won’t he offer you the best deception?  If you say he has not deceived you, then how do you know?
  5. Didn’t Muhammad steal from Caravans?
    1. Didn’t Muhammad kill many many people? Didn’t Muhammad destroy people and villages? Hmmm … Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly,” (John 10:10).
  6. Questions for Muslims
    1. Would you rather that I treat you the way a Christian is supposed to treat you (with love and patience and kindness), or would you want me to treat you according to the way the Quran tells Muslims to treat unbelievers (kill, lie, and destroy)?
    2. Which treatment is better?
